Remarks & Notes

We're inside the long-gone Union Junction Tower at 2:44 p.m., with the op facing the Union Switch & Signal electro-pneumatic Model 14 interlocking machine, installed in 1935. The tower, built in 1910, was abandoned in 1983 and later razed, as part of the Northeast Corridor Improvement Project. I can't remember the operator's name, although I believe he lived in Shrewsbury, Pa.
