Valentine's Day 1976, with an A-B-A set of eastbound ex-PRR GP9s. This 5,250 hp combo was probably the final nail in the coffin for PRR steam on its old Middle Division, supplanting the storied M1 4-8-2s and I1 2-10-0s in the late 1950s. The 7235 was built by EMD in October, 1959; one of 270 A-units, PRR Class EFS17m built 1955-59. The B-units came in two batches delivered in 1957 and 1959.
