The CR 4850 East is about to pass the Turkey Hill watchbox, on its way to Parkesburg and beyond. The 4850 was one of the last Conrail freight Gs with PRR-style yellow side numerals in Roman Serif and a wide yellow stripe below the cab windows; note how the stripe has totally worn off the nose. The 4850 was built in May, 1935 by PRR/Westinghouse, making it 41 years old at the time of this photo. Today, you can hike or bike under the cat poles here; see accompanying map for the location of the entrance to the public parking area at 2459 River Road.
