Remarks & Notes |
The British connection. Today the Dominion of Canada entered the main hall at Exporail. It was accorded a pride of place beside CP 2850 in the center of the main hall. Both engines are streamlined passenger engines with six driving wheels and both have British connections. The Dominion of Canada was of course built and spent its working career in Great-Britain. CP 2850 was the first Royal Hudson and received that honour after working the Royal train across Canada carrying King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1939. For a shot of the engine temporarily stored in hangar #5, click here. For a shot of the crest of Canada that is on the side of the engine, click here. |
