Passenger Train from Temuco, with a legendary locomotive "Shovelnose", passes through the historic San Rosendo railway triangle. San Rosendo was an important railway epicenter in Chile, especially in the times of steam locomotives. Currently you can see traces of that, as the great house of locomotives, the coal bunker, workshops. On site there is a Mikado steam locomotive No. 708, a Mountain steam locomotive No. 802, a passenger automotive of Italian origin AM-21, and a passenger automotive of German origin AM-10. There are also cars, many freight cars, a davit, etc.. Currently the railway triangle just go spend many freight trains and some passenger trains, as San Rosendo is the meeting point of two major rail networks. My sincere thanks to my friend and chilean railfan Nelson Beseler, great documentary on the history of railways in Chile, coming from a family with a long railway tradition, and lived many years in San Rosendo.
