Remarks & Notes

A nine car, Denver-only Amtrak #5 heads into the late March sun as seen from the EJ&E overhead at East Eola. The nine car train is completely stainless steel except for a BN office car on the rear. These were the days when Chicago to Oakland service only operated three times a week. The missing Burlington Route herald on 9976's nose makes her look like a toothless old woman.
