While Union Pacific's 13.27 mile Little Mountain Branch in Northern Utah wasn't particularly photogenic, the 'money shot' for me was this perspective with the Wasatch Mountains about a mile and a half west of Little Mountain Junction. The line was built in 1969 along the Ogden Subdivision from Hot Springs to mineral extraction industries that include potassium sulfate, sodium sulfate, magnesium chloride, and (of course) salt along the Great Salt Lake. After the UP merged with the SP, the branchline became redundant and was abandoned in 1997.
