Remarks & Notes |
Express train 3 car diesel railcar VT 137 856 of the "Köln" series was built in 1938 by Linke-Hofmann Werke (LHW) in Breslau for the Deutsche Reichsbahn. After world war II the train was used by the US Army as "USA 844" (corrected: No, USA 444" not "USA 844", sory) till 1958. Then it came back to the "Deutsche Reichsbahn", now the name of the railway of the German Democratic Republic (GDR). The train was used for trains like the "Vindobona" from Berlin via Dresden-Prague to Vienna. The not operational train was on display in Dresden on the occasion of the steamtrain meeting 2014 and the celebration of 175 years of the Leipzig-Dresden railway line. |
