The Pacific Railroad Society's 75th Anniversary Special (Union Pacific symbol AMT966-02), heading from Los Angeles to Bakersfield via the former SP Palmdale Cutoff (over Cajon Pass) and the line over the Tehachapi Mountains, rounds Sullivan's Curve as it ascends Cajon Pass. In a classy move by Amtrak, P42DC 156, fresh in its Heritage paint scheme to commemorate the carrier's 40th Anniversary, is on the point, followed by Amtrak B32-8BWH 510.
