Remarks: Here is a window to Chama. 489 does the switching chores while a storm passes over. A drop bottom gon is parked where the coal would be dropped so coal buckets would carry the coal to the top of the bunker to fill it up. On the other side of it is an ash pit. The cinders would be loaded into the drop bottom gon and then taken on the line somewhere and dumped for ballast. There are some small buildings and a water tank. The sand house provides sand for locos. It would be great to see all this operational again.

Remarks: 489 has just pulled up to the water tank at Chama. It will take on water and then the spout will be used to clean out the coal bunker.

Remarks: The 315 pulls into Chama after a long run from Antonito as the photography special. In this photo it's hard to tell if the year is 1940 or 2009.

Remarks: The 315 arrives at Cumbres to switch out some cars of which one was a bad order. They were left there to be picked up again on the next days photo run special. This way the 315 wouldn't have to work so hard going up to Cumbres from Chama. Also made for an interesting switching job the next day when cars were added.

Remarks: A long commuter train runs through the Glen of Glenview heading towards the city just before the rush hour traffic. A friendly engineer gives a wave of the hand as he passes by.

Remarks: The 315 hauls 10 gondolas and a caboose up to Cumbres Pass from Antonito. This is a special photo run by with a photographers chase train running ahead of it. For a small engine it sure made a loud bark working those grades and it was surprising to see this engine pull this many cars with ease.

Remarks: A passenger train struggles to get to the top of Cumbres Pass. The loco slips its drivers at times, but finally makes it. The rest of the trip after that is downhill to Antonito. It is a very interesting 64 mile line on the border of New Mexico and Colorado. It is a worth while place to visit.

Remarks: A regular passenger train on the steep grade to Cumbres.
