A second trip for the day from Arvida to Port-Alfred

This is the returning trip from Rio Tinto's Grande-Baie facilities. It is coming downhill with empty hoppers and loaded flats of aluminium bars.

With fall colors taking place and the wave from the conductor, RS 62, the first of three round trips between Arvida and Port-Alfred is slowly departing Port-Alfred.

Just before Arvida is the Chicoutimi River dam. The Port-Alfred to Arvida train rolls steadily right next to the reservoir before crossing the bridge over the dam at Pont-Arnaud.

On June 21, the Roberval & Saguenay Laterrière, Saguenay, Quebec turn from La Baie is returning to the yard and crossing the Rivière-à-Mars with a matched set of GP38-3s, RS 61 and 65.

The Arpa Sub Local is already down to a crawl, battling the serious grade out of La Baie (Port Alfred), Quebec.
