It could be a Cummins or a Gimmy under the hood actually. The engine & generator all in the old radiator compartment. Reportedly originally HBT, later Texas & Northern.

My first photo of the year is Miss Katy waiting for a new crew in Taylor, She is waiting to head south to San Antonio once the northbound parade clears.
It’s enough to warm an old vet’s heart. The “Texas Eagle” rolls north, with Amtrak’s tribute locomotive proudly leading the way.
UP #1988 spends the night in the Yard of Taylor, Texas awaiting its next train headed east in the morning.
Amtrak #156 takes the lead on the #22 Texas eagle.
Power not commonly seen anymore is in charge of a cement train as it rolls through Central Texas.
