About 20 minutes out of Sparks, NV, Amtrak E9 425, an ex-UP unit, is leading #6 East out into Nevada. Crossing Donner Pass the train was led by an ex-SP FP7, which was left in Sparks.

Quincy Railroad #12 is picking up empty centerbeams to take back to Susanville. The track going off into the distance is the remains of the Modoc Line which had been dismantled North of Wendel.

The Rio Grande units have been removed and Western Pacific locomotives are being placed on the head end of the last Westbound California Zephyr to depart Salt Lake City for Oakland.

The Westbound mid-week Reno Snow Train passing thru Yuba Gap. The 2004 season would mark the end of Amtrak's use of the P32's on this train, replacing them with the newer P42's.
