The Blizzard of 2009 has begun to impact the New Hope area as C30-7 7087 brings up the rear of the 2:00 pm excursion, arriving at the North Pole (aka Lahaska).
As originally predicted, heavy snow begins to fall for the 2:30PM run to Lahaska after an early morning dusting.
Over the mountains and through the woods... #40 meets the challenge.

Pulling with all her might, #40 brings her consist of Fall foliage admirers through the woods and up the grade, her tender light announcing her presence at the grade at Lower Mountain Road.

Fall was pretty late back in 07', was pretty nice to catch some nice color after Thanksgiving.
I snapped this shot from on top of AB2's Ford Explorer, one of those spur of the moment shots that was difficult to replicate.
The amount of steam is evident that #40 is foaming like crazy, as she walks up the grade at about 10MPH. Nonetheless, she still sounded great.
