After working the yard in Gastonia, NS P43 starts to pick up speed through downtown on the way to Bessemer City, NC, on a cold December evening.
The NS 5230 acts as a shoving platform on P43 as they wind their way South to Lubrizol in the remaining patches of snow.
It was nice catching a pair of standard cab units by this date leading a train. Now, since the demise of the C40-9 model on Norfolk Southern, it makes this shot all the more enjoyable.
