Nice looking unit but wow what is that gas tank on the walkway? Loconotes guys, this ought to spawn reams of suppositions.

ATSF took their old U-36Cs, rebuilt them, and hoped for better reliability at 3000HP. Why they did the nose I'd like to know.

I had only been living there for a couple of months and still had to remind myself I was really taking pictures on Cajon Pass almost every other weekend.

I noticed this unit has a "slick" nose, no headlight box. I wonder if it was built this way or reworked.

These were some of the first units which really established GE in the market. For the first time they weren't bad. Not great, but not bad.
