After being out of service since the 1990s, K-27 #476 is undergoing a full restoration in the Durango roundhouse.

D&SNGRR #481 passes through Rockwood shortly before entering the Hi-Line and the Animas River Canyon.

The second train of the day passes the water tower at Hermosa. Here, the train will begin its ascent to Rockwood and on into the Animas River Canyon.

A narrow gauge locomotive axle set sits in the massive machine shop for some work. The DSNG is a big operation and can perform most maintenance in house.

The first of three trains today gets under way crossing the Animas River as it departs Durango.

K-36 480 sits in the roundhouse as the back up engine today. 473, 482, 486, and 481 were all out on the the line - an impressive operation to say the least!
