North Star Steel SW9 1678, seen here at the CSX yard in Riverdale, IL, was built in December 1952 as Pennsylvania Railroad 8523 (later renumbered PRR 9123, PC 9123 and CR 9123).

The Chicago area's Indiana Harbor Belt keeps power all around town, and NW2 8734 was found hiding off in the weeds at CSX's Barr Yard in Riverdale, IL, on September 21, 1997.
