A NS rebuilt SD90MAC to a SD70ACU begins to pull on a coal train at Farm after receiving pushers.
A newly built SD40E sits in the yard beside a couple of AC and DC Pokey workhorses. The old coaling tower continues to stand tall.
A coal drag rounds the bend at Ought One. As one can see, it is one of the steepest curves on the Pokey. The train had two pushers on the back.
A new AC pusher set enters the tunnel in Welch W.Va. Notice the white numberboards. The new units has black ones up to unit NS 8065. Anyone know why the 8066 and higher have the old white ones?

The slide fence protects trains entering Glen Alum Tunnel from the ice formed on the cliffs above. These type of fences are common along this tight section of the Pokey.
The Southern and Erie heritage units rolls along the Pokey beside the Bluestone River. In seconds the units will cross the Bluestone and enter Coopers Tunnel and back across the Bluestone.

The NS "Blue Mule" DC to AC conversion pushes a coal train over the top of Flat Top Mountain via the Elkhorn Tunnel on a beautiful fall day.
A coal train labors hard to get the load to the top of the Mountain. The engines have just passed the state line so the train is in both states.
NS still uses camp cars for MOW workers in the remote areas of WV.
