I heard that the NS 1070 Wabash unit was leading NS 225 heading West towards California. With today being an absolute perfect day weather-wise, I drove down to Rankin to try and catch it.

The last shot of the day was taken with the last bit of light available.

UP 5131 followed by 2 other UP units led NS 355 south towards New Orleans, but were held up at the Amtrak Depot in Laurel while A59 sat out 90 frack sand cars.

CN ran a test Iron Ore train down to Louisiana down the Yazoo Sub. Here's a shot of it coming out of Crenshaw through a cotton field that had yet to be harvested.

To my surprise today while driving home, I managed to catch KCS 4006 leading a CN manifest bound for Mobile, AL.

The UP 1982 Missouri Pacific heritage unit lead IFWMN this morning out of Little Rock, AR. It is shown here crossing the Cache River as it comes into Patterson, AR.

"The City of New Orleans" Train no. 59 had 8 extra single-level cars on it today as it traveled down to New Orleans. The single-level cars will be used for the Polar Express.
