| Rebuilding a railroad ... one tie at a time! In the hills of rural Pocahontas County West Virginia, the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad is rebuilding a section of the former Chesapeake & Ohio between Durbin and Cass for tourist and photo freight operations. As of the end of the 2017 season, the railroad has accessed and restored nearly 11 miles of the branch line, leaving less than 6 miles between the two locations. DGVR crews estimate the two points will be connected in late 2018 for the first time since the flood of 1985. |
