Remarks & Notes

Conrail OCS eastbound crosses former Erie RR Starrucca Viaduct built 1847-1848. The Conrail executive E8 is on "home rails" as it started out as Erie 833. The track under the viaduct is what remained of the D&H Penn Division at that time. The D&H track was still in service from Nineveh Junction (NY) to Jefferson Junction (PA) for a connection at Lanesboro with Conrail's line to Binghamton, NY for D&H high-and-wide loads and excessive clearance railcars to bypass Belden Hill tunnel until that tunnel was reopened at the end of 1985 following reconstruction.
