A trio of Southern Pacific SD7s lead a transfer run as it departs Santa Fe’s Hobart Yard, in Vernon (southeast of downtown Los Angeles) with train bound for SP's Taylor Yard, northeast of downtown LA. This SP train, on ATSF tracks, is crossing the Union Pacific’s line to the port of Long Beach. UP's Hobart Tower controls movements over this crossing. (October 16, 1975)
