BN 9503 is one of 4 AC drive demonstrator locomotives built in 1991-92 for Burlington Northern RR to test an AC drive system in heavy haul service. These 4 locomotives were the ancestors of the thousands of AC machines in use today. They were owned by EMD, but lettered for BN. Seen here sitting at the Burlington Northern diesel shop in Denver, Colorado. Scanned from a color print.
