Remarks & Notes
Canton Viaduct was built by the Boston & Providence Rail Road in 1835 to support the tiny locomotives of the day, and now, well past its 175th birthday, it carries Acelas. Back in 1980 one of the first group of Amtrak F40PHs crossed the ancient stone structure with a southbound Boston-Washington train.
