Several locomotives are lined up at Santa Fe’s Corwith Yard locomotive facility on November 22, 1986. Three are painted in the mid-eighties merger scheme to be used with the proposed Southern Pacific merger that never happened after being denied by the ICC. GE C30-7 No. 8070 and EMD GP30 No. 2724 show off the colorful yellow, red and black paint scheme that many dubbed “Kodachrome” since the colors used greatly resembled a Kodak Kodachrome film box—something that has to be explained some in today’s digital age…
