Remarks & Notes |
Normally Amtrak #6 passes through Salt Lake City in darkness, but today #6 was delayed nearly 7 hours due to being diverted through the Feather River Canyon because of a fatal Amtrak crash in Nevada. #6 was held west of Salt Lake until an even later running #5 cleared Salt Lake's Amtrak "depot", then #6 came through Grant Tower and ran around the UP MNPRO-24 to get onto the depot trackage. The MNPRO is seen here holding just north of the busy 2nd South street crossing as #6 threads the crossovers. The vacant trackage to the right is used by the Front Runner commuter trains, however today is Sunday and Front Runner does not operate on Sunday. |
