| Cogwheel steamlocomotive 2 of Monte Generoso Bahn with the open summer car is slowly descending from the top of the mountain, visible in the background. The line with a maximum grade of 22.0 % goes from Capolago on the shore of Lake Lugano (274 m a.s.l.) to Generoso Vetta (1592 m a.s.l.). Steamlocomotive 2 was built by SLM in 1890 for the opening of the line and is said to be the oldest in Switzerland which is in regular service ( 7 times a year) |
