Conrail BUOI enters the Croxton Runner shortly after crossing HX draw. NJ Transit dispatchers often crossed BUOI over to track 1 at Rutherford Junction or even BT (if they had work at the NYS&W interchange), but on this day, they ran track 2 all the way to HX. HX tower, at the extreme left edge of the image, looked a lot better in 1998 than it does today. If memory serves, Conrail's Ballast Express units appeared on road trains far more often than ballast extras.
