Remarks & Notes
"They Grow Up so Fast" MBTA 7617, a COVID-era modified schedule Needham Line train, coasts into Hersey Station. In the lead is HSP-46 #2017, a "High Speed Passenger" locomotive built new for the MBTA in 2014 by MotivePower Industries (now Wabtec). More than half a decade after this photo was taken, the first HSP46 locomotives are planned to be shipped off to Wabtec for a mid-life overhaul, with the first units leaving Massachusetts in the next few months. Man, how time flies.
