Load test run 9125 of the newly converted Ge 4/4 III # 653 of the Rhaetian Railway (still without any lettering) from Landquart via Chur-Thusis-Tiefencastel-Filisur to Davos. The Ge 4/4 III # 642 (62 tons) and the two Ge 4/4 II # 624 and # 631 (50 tons each) serve as trailer loads. The train crosses the Schmittentobel Viaduct between Alvaneu and Filisur. What looks like a new locomotive fresh from the factory, still without any markings, is in fact a locomotive that is over 30 years old. It was delivered in 1994 by SLM and ABB as Ge 4/4 # 8003 for 900 volts DC to the Montreux-Oberland Bernois (MOB). It was sold to the Rhaetian Railway in 2019 as an addition to the 12 existing Ge 4/4 III # 641 to # 652 locomotives. The engineering and conversion took a very long time, as the locomotive is also to serve as a prototype for a refit program for the existing locomotives.
