As the sun sets on August 16th, 2025, a fresh coat of blue paint dries on the caboose at The Depot Darien Youth Center as an eastbound Amtrak Northeast Regional passes behind on the New Haven Line in the Noroton Heights neighborhood of Darien, Connecticut. Once green, then red following The Depot’s 2013 makeover, the caboose was painted blue on this day to match the organization’s and building’s colors. The Depot, housed in the preserved former Noroton Heights station, has served as Darien’s youth center for more than 30 years, offering middle and high school students a welcoming and social environment to connect, grow, and give back.
