On the morning of August 9th, 2024, the MBTA ran its two Precision Locomotive Leasing Services units to the Fore River Railroad for an extremely short-term lease. With its two Dash 7s down for the count and GP38 #7750 completely dead, the Fore River needed to borrow some motive power for less than a week. Luckily, at the same time, the two PNLX units were due for their 92-day inspection, so the MBTA sent them to Fore River, where they were inspected and used for a few days before B23-7 #102 could be fixed.
