| WAMX 4223 leads Y302 around the S-curves at the former site of the Janesville General Motors plant. GM shut this plant down back in 2008, and the buildings were demolished several years ago. Now the area is many acres of vacant land, and the city is trying to figure out what the next use for that land will be. From a railroaders perspective, hopefully the the S-curves are eliminated and turned into one sweeping curve. The fencing and foliage combined with the curves create a lot of blind spots. Operating a 10,000 plus ton train at restricted speed through this area isn't exactly fun! |
