Remarks & Notes
Buckingham Branch train Z523 operates on the former Virginia Southern line between Burkeville and Keysville, VA one to two days per week. The train is departing Keysville after gathering its outbound cars for NS interchange. BB 3 is the only unit on the roster to wear this solid gray paint scheme, which was applied when it appeared the GP16s were no longer needed after larger motive power was acquired. BB 3 was given a generic coat of "preservation paint" to make it more attractive to a buyer which never came. As things progressed, that wasn't a bad thing as the BB now needs every locomotive they have and possibly more.

The "BB" was founded in 1988 and ran its first train on March 6, 1989. The BB has grown from 17 miles of track and two employees to 275 miles and 75 employees, spanning over Virginia in three separate divisions.
