Remarks & Notes |
One of the Illinois Railway Museum's new engines heads towards the diesel shops to allow ATSF 92 to hook up to the coach train's consist in preparation for the final run of the day. #6976 was built for Amtrak in 1974 and served in passenger service before its sale to the Santa Fe in 1984. It ran in freight service through 2002, when it received its unique Maersk livery to promote a new port facility in L.A. The unit had various owners since then and moved around from Oregon to the southwest before DynaRail donated it to IRM. |
