Remarks & Notes |
Spanning the Freight House and Union Station, The Freight House Footbridge in Downtown Kansas City is one of the best places in the country to watch trains, seeing upwards of 100 movements per day. Once located at the KC riverfront, the 250 foot long Pencoyd Bridge was built in 1892 and closed in 1970. The bridge was moved to its current location in 2006 and repurposed as a pedestrian bridge with a semi enclosed walkway in the middle. My second train of the day that I shot was a going away shot of L CHI0071 with BNSF 783 on the wear, still wearing its Warbonnet scheme from its 1997 delivery to the ATSF. |
