2014 Night At The Museum. Once a year the United Railroad Historical Society of NJ opens its Boonton, New Jersey facility to the public for an event called "Museum For A Day". On Saturday, September 20, 2014, the night before the public event, the group also offered an organized night shoot opportunity. One scene that was posed included NJ DOT E8 4253 (née PRR 5793A, 6/1952) and former Pennsylvania Railroad GG-1s 4877 and 4879. The GG-1 was the core of the PRR's electric fleet for decades (later Penn Centra, Amtrak, and NJ DOT), and these two were amongst the last to be retired. In 2024 the event is being hosted on Sunday, September 29, 2024, and this year for the first time, NJ Transit is operating a special rail shuttle service between Denville and Boonton to offer for a mass transit connection.

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
A recent spike in a personal interest of the skill and work it takes to create and ultimately nail a shot in the dark using flash technology, leads to this album.
Photos of North America's favorite First Generation locomotives. EMD, ALCO, Baldwin; essentially anything that represents the OG wide cab diesel locomotive
