CPKC's Final Spike train crosses the Red River on its way to Shreveport. The city of Texarkana is known for sitting right along the Texas/Arkansas state line, with a photo op available at the post office where visitors can stand in both states at once. The state line continues straight north from here until it reaches the Red River, where it curves northwest. In this image, the train is still in Arkansas, with the engine crossing into Texas right around where the trees on the left are.
