Remarks & Notes
One of Mohawk, Adirondack & Northern's ex-Erie-Lackawanna/BCRail C425s waits at Remsen Depot with a passenger train. The Adirondack Railroad borrowed the 2456 to help run their Holland Patent-Remsen trains in push-pull format for the Easter weekend. The depot, a 1999 recreation of the original Utica & Black River, is marked with mileages to the former endpoints of the NYC Adirondack Division: 210 miles to Montreal, 27 miles to Herkimer.

The scenic Adirondack and Catskill Mountains offer wonderful views, but political forces have made it difficult for railroads to stay in business.
