CRH3 was the fastest model among the first-generation imported CRH trains. Modified from ICE-3, it was one of the variants of Siemens Velaro. The train entered service in 2008 on the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway with an operating speed of 350km/h. Though there were only 80 sets of CRH3C built, it became the basis for developing other high-speed trains in later times.
