The Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link opened in 2018. While China Railway operates train services to destinations across China, MTR also runs several short-haul journeys to Shenzhen and Guangzhou with the modified CRH380A, also known as Vibrant Express. After three years of the pandemic, High-Speed Rail has now replaced the role of Intercity Through Trains.
