Remarks & Notes |
Indiana Rail Road’s train SAHW makes it’s way towards Palestine with a duo of Indiana Rail Road SD9043MACs, #9012 and #9010. The train is seen here making the minute trek over the 117 year old Tulip Viaduct.
The trestle Itself Is famous to the State of Indiana; as It was built in 1905 by the Indianapolis Southern Railway, which became part of the Illinois Central Railroad in 1911. It is 2,295 feet in length and is the biggest railroad bridge in all of Indiana. The Tulip Trestle is the biggest trestle along the old Illinois Central Hi-Dry Line as well. The close-up wide angle I took here really shows how big the trestle is. |
