The CNJ and The TA. On January 5, 2022, Metropolitan Transportation Authority - MTA NYCT R-110A 8010 is a passenger with STX Southern Tier Express Inc. as it passes the Clinton Station Diner in Clinton New Jersey on Interstate 78. Built in 1927 for the CNJ's Jersey City-Atlantic City train, the Blue Comet has been a fixture at the Diner for many years, and is popular attraction for customers. But don’t forget - while the diner is open 24/7, the “Blue Comet” closes at 8:00 PM. This car was built by Kawasaki in 1992 as part of a 10 car experimental train for the IRT/A Division of the New York City Subway to better plan the “New Technology” features of the R-142 order. Out of service since 1998, the 6 “B” cars (no cab) have already been converted to pump reacher cars. This is one of 4 “A” cars (with cab) on the way to Brookville Equipment Corporation for conversion to two 2 car sets of electric pump cars. Pump Trains in the MTA NYCT Subway are pulled by a diesel, with 1-2 pump cars, and 3 “reacher” cars that guide the hoses to the affected while keeping the diesel engine a good distance from the water.
