First Union Rail SD40-2 7931 is seen on a power set at BNSF Railway’s Watson Yard. Built in April 1980 as Burlington Northern 7931, this locomotive became part of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (as BNSF 7931) when a merger created that new railroad. It was later sold to First Union Rail, which retained its original road number. The four diesels shown here are FURX SD40-2 7931, BNSF GP60B 325, RLCX Dash 8-39BE 8589 and CEFX SD60 6001.
