Swaying to and fro as it meanders east down the tracks of the Santa Paula Branch Line, UP 1469 leads a train of two loaded covered hoppers of plastic pellets bound for Spears Manufacturing in Santa Paula, Calif. Operating via trackage rights, today's LOF63's work will continue once it exchanges the two loaded cars for three empty ones. The local will next run up into downtown Santa Paula where it will pick up one locomotive and three passenger cars from the now defunct Fillmore & Western Railway, all which are heading to new homes after the Ventura County Transportation Commission chose to move forward with Sierra Northern as the new operator of the branch line (which, at the time of this posting, has still not been finalized).
