The Detroit to St. Louis train No.1 The Wabash Cannon Ball tail sign adorned the gate of the open platform of the City of Wabash observation car, as the conductor watched the train leave the Decatur station for the remaining one hundred and thirteen mile trip to St. Louis in February 1955. Photo from my collection, photographer Al Holtz.. .
