Marias Pass A early clear morning in the Northern Rockies sees a eastbound Stack train leaving Java. The train is pulling the 1.8% grade up toward the Blacktail Horseshoe. This section of railroad has several snowsheds to protect the line from the frequent snow slides that can occur along the southern boundary of Glacier National Park.
