Route of the Rockets
Belleville was once a busy Junction between Rock Island mainlines from Kansas City, Omaha and Denver. Passenger trains and freight heading for the Rocky Mountains passed thru this once busy yard. Today it is the end of Kyle Railroad, where a occasional train serves some large grain elevators in town. The derelict switcher sitting in the yard is somewhat fitting adorned in worn boxcar red reminiscent of the once great "ROCK"!
Not
