On the weekend before NYSW operations started on the ex DL&W Syracuse & Utica branches, the ADRC 29 had been serviced and fired up at the I.L. Richer Clayville, NY feed mill. A Conrail crew later moved it to Richfield Junction where on Saturday April 10, 1982 the Delaware Otsego crew assigned to the Richfield Springs branch had it on its maiden run to Richfield Springs.
